Mirrors are a great way to bring extra light into a dark space or make a small room seem larger. A smartly located mirror can be used in place of another light source or give the illusion of a room double in size. Homelement offers a huge range of accent mirrors to decorate any room of the house. Today we’re going to talk about some decorating tips you can use with mirrors.

Three long mirrors hung sideways can give the look of one large mirror. This works exceptionally well on smaller walls or in smaller rooms as it gives the illusion that the space is actually bigger than it actually is. For this design, long rectangular mirrors with thin or no borders work best. One great pick for this design is the Portrait Rectangular Mirror by Ren-Wil. This slim mirror measures in at 60’ by ’14. One interesting feature this piece has is a frame that is also made of smaller rectangular mirrors. It’s more narrow than other mirrors of it’s height which helps give a room a really unique and open look when you place three next to each other.

Another design idea is to mix and match a large array of different mirrors on the wall to make a collective. You can pick one uniting trait, for example all silver or circular mirrors, that they all share to give this idea a more cohesive look. Cooper Classics is one of our most popular manufacturer’s of accent mirrors and they have a huge selection to choose from. A trio collection that I think works really well is the Markson, the Rosalie and the Vernon. These three circular mirrors are framed by three different looks but have enough similarities to create a cohesive collection when hung on the wall together.

The Markson comes with a steel finish. It has three rows of arches in the frame, giving the piece a very bold look. The Vernon mirror has a circular frame made of small circles that progressively enlarge, giving the use a very unique frame to their face. The Rosalie is a personal favorite of mine and features a rattan and metal frame that looks similar to a birds nest. At first glance, these pieces might seem like a strange hodgepodge, but due to some similar characteristics such as the circular shape and the dark color scheme, it makes a great trio to decorate any wall.
