Q. Why does Homelement require an alternate address be put on file for online orders?

A. Credit card companies created this regulation for instances where the credit card is not present for mail, phone and internet orders to prevent fraudulent charges. It is actually the policy of Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, and not ours. We simply follow their requirements and take a very active role to prevent online fraud. Fraud orders from our experience, it's not a good situation for both the sellers and the customers.

We know not all online merchants follow these regulations. But as a 100% secure shopping site, we comply with all Internet "card not present" anti-fraud procedures. The other companies that are not following these security regulations are disregarding what is required by all credit card issuers. We know that "other companies do not require this", but really they should. It helps keeps everyone's costs down and gives online buyers a better experience.

Shopping at Homelement guarantees your personal information to be treated with the highest security and respect. It's a trust we uphold and be assured we will actively protect all credit card accounts rather than disregarding fraud prevention procedures.
