My husband & I bought 5 of these for our kitchen bar area 5 years ago. They are extremely sturdy, especially with my girls and their friends. One neighbor's child leaned on the bar and stretched her legs out, knocking one stool to the wood floor. A little glue and some black paint touched up the small crack wonderfully, you can't even see it cracked. I have even used a black Sharpie to touch up scratches. I just had them recovered and they look great-well worth the cost.
