This is a high quality, sturdy piece of furniture and would be a good value at twice the price. It does not require assembly and have a very sturdy, solid feel. The top drawer is lined in felt. The wood looks like oak with a dark cherry finish. The drawers slide in and out easily. The knobs are solid and contemporary and look expensive. All in all, this is a terrific value and I'm going to go ahead and purchase the media chest. Also, it was made in Viet Nam, and with all due respect to the Chinese it is nice to be supporting someone else for a change.
